Tourism Ministry launches ‘Bali Hot Deals’ to attract foreign tourists

In a bid to boost tourism and attract foreign tourists, the Tourism Ministry has launched “Bali Hot Deals” promotion packages, as reported by Antara news agency.

The ministry’s division 1 deputy of marketing development, I Gde Pitana, said in a statement that the Bali promotion was part of the Visit Wonderful Indonesia (ViWI) 2018, a program initiated by tourism stakeholders and associations.

“ViWI 2018 aims to strengthen three important elements for tourists, namely accessibility, attractions and amenities,” I Gde Pitana said, adding that the newly launched Hot Deals promotions featured these elements.

UK-Papua New Guinea Trade & Investment Forum 2018

On 24th April, HE Peter O’Neill, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea, led a delegation of his senior ministers to visit the UK for the second UK-Papua New Guinea Trade Investment Forum.

Following on from the inaugural forum in 2015, UK-PNG Trade & Investment Forum 2015 – Highlights this event demonstrated significant developments that the country has made in the intervening years as well showcasing key opportunities in business and investment in; Finance, the Extractives, Energy and Infrastructure.

Opening remarks were made by Hon Rimbink Pato, Papua New Guinea’s Minister of Foreign Affairs alongside the Rt Hon Mark Fields, Minister of State for the UK Foreign and Commonwealth office, both talked about the existing relationship between the UK and Papua New Guinea, something that had been cemented just the week before at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

The day included spotlights on agriculture and tourism with an address made by Bob Bates MD of Trans Niugini Tours, as well as a plenary session on several key sectors; Petroleum, Energy, Mining and Infrastructure.

Also in attendance was His Royal Highness, Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who delivered the closing remarks of the forum where he expressed a sincere hope that the UK and Papua New Guinea would continue to build on the strong business ties that connect the two countries.

The desire to build a second airport for Bali at Kubutambahan in northeast Bali has become a polarizing and emotional issue, with many local Balinese insisting there is a absolute need for a second airport in North Bali in order to achieve a more equitable distribution of tourism development. Some also contend that the building of a second international airport in Bali is a matter of cultural pride and self-determination for the Balinese.

Pusuk Bike Park, New Mountain Bike Trail in Lombok

TEMPO.COMataram – Mountain biker enthusiasts opened Pusuk Bike Park for cycling adventure arena in Pusuk forest, Batu Layar, West Lombok, NTB. The length trail was 1,5 kilometers in the midst of natural environment.

Pusuk Bike Park was initiated by Eko Anugraha from Groos MTB. He explained the trails will give bikers adrenaline rush as it has many obstacles. The park was built from a joint fund by mountain bikers which cost about Rp100 million. Eko said BUMDes will be the management.

According to him, Pusuk Bike Park was constructed without damaging the environment of the protected forest. The bikers had to shred along the forest, two wooden bridges and bamboo bridge to cross the river, four drop-offs (jumping track), and dozens of full berms.

NTB Regional Secretary Rosiady Sayuti inaugurated the arena on the 35th Foresters’ Day (Hari Bakti Rimbawan) and released four athletes of Down Hill in Pusuk on Sunday morning, March 18.
